We are a family-owned and operated San Angelo Independent Insurance Agency offering a variety of commercial and personal insurance and risk management solutions. We started in Kerrville, TX over 100 years, and have expanded throughout Texas and Kansas. We’ve helped local businesses and families make sure they have coverage when it matters most.
Formerly known in San Angelo as Lipsey-Currie Insurance Association Inc and was founded in 2001 as an insurance department within Crockett National Bank. In 2006, Crocket National Bank wished to sell the agency, so Shanna Lipsey (along with others) purchased the agency. On July 1, 2021, Garrett Insurance acquired Lipsey-Currie and extended our footprint to San Angelo and the surrounding counties.
We are humbled and honored to have received the Reader’s Choice Awards from the Kerrville Daily Times for Best Insurance Agency, Best Insurance Agent, and Best Boss. These awards speak to the dedication we have to each member of our Kerr County community. The Texas Historical Commission recently awarded Bob and Stephen Schmerbeck, of Garrett Insurance, with a Texas Historical Marker for recognition of 100-plus years of protecting your treasures since 1918.
