Dear valued clients of Southern Star Insurance Agency,

We are making some changes at the agency that we want to share with you, our clients, our most valuable asset. For some time now, this industry that I have devoted 36 years of my life, has changed in multiple ways that have affected my effectiveness and zeal to go to the office every day. My clients, which are also my friends that I have always treasured the interpersonal relation-ships that we have shared. Our industry has become obsessed with numbers, quotas, information technology, and digital devices that have destroyed the agent to client relationship, but, our goal has always been to strength the agent to client relationship.

We needed to establish a working relationship with an agency that has strong back office support, multiple insurance company contracts, and a managerial staff of younger principals that we could join ranks to continue to serve you as we have in the past, which gave us meaning and purpose. Fortunately, we have aligned ourselves with Garrett Insurance Agency, Inc. of Kerrville. These folks have been doing business in Kerrville for almost one hundred years and the President, Stephen R. Schmerbeck, CIC, is the fourth generation of the Garrett Family to be involved in the agency. They also own the Frantzen, Kaderli and Klier Agency in Fredericksburg.

How will this affect you going forward? We feel this is a great benefit to you. Thankfully, Stephen recognizes what works really well, so Nichole, Jamie and I will be here to service your accounts and render service to your insurance needs as we have in the past. We expect to leverage enhanced automation capabilities to better serve you, and will have more time to spend with you, which for us is the most enjoyable part of our business.
